چکیده

In this paper, we remove the solid incidence assumption in a characterization of H(4,q2) by J. Schillewaert and A. Thasby proving that Hermitian plane numbers imply numbers, except for few possible small cases.

A combinatorial H4 tail library for exploring the histone code.

Histone modifications modulate chromatin structure and function. A posttranslational modification-randomized, combinatorial library based on the first 21 residues of histone H4 was designed for systematic examination of proteins that interpret a histone code. The 800-member library represented all permutations of most known modifications within the N-terminal tail of histone H4. To determine it...

A Combinatorial Characterization of ResolutionWidth

We provide a characterization of the resolution width introduced in the context of propositional proof complexity in terms of the existential pebble game introduced in the context of finite model theory. The characterization is tight and purely combinatorial. Our first application of this result is a surprising proof that the minimum space of refuting a 3-CNF formula is always bounded from belo...

A Characterization of Combinatorial Demand

We prove that combinatorial demand functions are characterized by two properties: continuity and the law of demand.

" a Combinatorial Characterization of the Distributed Tasks

Fischer, Lynch and Paterson showed in a fundamental paper that achieving a distributed agreement for N > 1 processors is impossible in the presence of ohe faulty processor. This' resulf was hiter extended by Wolfstahl and Moran who showed that it holdS for any task with a connected input graph and a ~connected decision graph (where a vertex in the input [decision] graph is an N -tuple of input ...

Genomic characterization reveals a simple histone H4 acetylation code.

The histone code hypothesis holds that covalent posttranslational modifications of histone tails are interpreted by the cell to yield a rich combinatorial transcriptional output. This hypothesis has been the subject of active debate in the literature. Here, we investigated the combinatorial complexity of the acetylation code at the four lysine residues of the histone H4 tail in budding yeast. W...
